Reverse Varicose Veins rather Destroy it

Varicose veins are a nuisance not only from an aesthetic point of view, they it can also lead to serious venous ailments. So far, in the modern treatments the affected veins were often removed in the treatment.

Varicose veins disfigure even the most beautiful legs. Even if the legs won’t get disfigured in the first treatment it will in the repetitive treatments. The worn-out veins are drawn, heated, deserted.

Varicose veins sound harmless, but can also cause serious illnesses besides annoying heavy legs. One possible consequence is phlebitis that damage the deep venous system. In advanced stages, varicose veins can also cause leg ulcers that can become infected and become a hindrance to your mobility. Vascular surgeon or dermatologist removes varicose veins by surgery or they are deserted by heat.

A recent survey conducted in United States has revealed that every second adult suffers from venous insufficiency. Which is the best remedy for varicose veins – with surgery, laser, sclerotherapy or any alternative methods? Every thing helps, But the modern method has significant disadvantages.

Swollen ankles are the first signs

Varicose vein surgery is one of  the most common surgeries around the world as millions of adults in this world suffer from weak veins. Varicose veins makes ankles swollen, calves heavy, fine purple veins or thick blue veins snaking along the legs etc. Risk factors that favor the development of varicose veins, are especially frequent long periods of standing or sitting and too much heat and obesity.

Not just a cosmetic problem

Varicose veins are not only unsightly, they can also make you sick: blood accumulates in the veins, creates great pressure in the legs. The fluid pushes the tissue swells and feet. In the long term as ulcers or blood clots can occur. If the blood clot is buzzing through the body to the lungs, it can in the worst case to a pulmonary embolism. In order to prevent this scourge, doctors suggests to remove the vein from the body.
Which surgical method is the best?

Because no single modern treatment recommendation exists, experts argue about which method eliminates varicose veins effectively. The operative removal of the vein – called stripping – is considered the standard method. But some doctors is a newer method popular because it is less time consuming and requires only local anesthesia: the so-called endovenous laser treatment (EVLT).

The laser seals the vein

When lasers push doctors a catheter through a hole in the knee in the varicose veins, so that no more blood flows through. Then the walls of the vessel are heated by laser light. This however often small side branches remain open, which later carry blood and can become varicose so. This procedure is not covered by health insurance and costs about 1444 us dollars.

For a hundred years veins are pulled

The most common method in the treatment for varicose veins is the stripping – a surgical procedure that is used already since 1906 for treating varicose veins. Here, a small incision is made in order then to pull the enlarged vein with a probe from the leg on the inner side of the leg. As previously not only the vein, but also its small side branches of the vein star are paralyzed, according to experts, the risk of relapse is for this reason less.

Study on 350 patients

In the study conducted among 350 patients who previously had the problem of dilated veins were noted were examined. For all removal of varicose veins out of the question. They divided the subjects into two groups by drawing lots in order to compare them directly to: A group underwent the stripping, the other was treated with endovenous laser therapy. After two years, the researchers examined the condition of the patient. The result: 155 of 185 laser patients across the leg no varicose veins came back, it was in 124 of 161 patients in the stripping of the case. However, the quality of life of the stripping group was sometimes better than those of the laser group, because their wounds became infected less frequently, and the patient had no pain after the reverse of varicose veins. For this, the laser group recovered faster and had more often a more respectable result.

Higher risk of relapse in the laser therapy

But the decisive factor was found later: After the tactile and visible results, the doctors looked deeper with a special ultrasonic method into the tissue. The results showed that there was significantly more relapses in the laser group, which can reach the surface in a few years: In almost 18 percent of EVLT patients branches of varicose veins came back. When stripping that happened in only 1.3 percent of cases.

Affected often go to the doctor too late

Many come in until very late stages to the doctor. If they came earlier, some unpleasant consequences could have been avoided.
